If Your Car Ever Breaks Down In St. Clairsville, Ohio, Call Jim

After a nice sleep at the old Twin Pines Motel in St. Clairsville, Ohio, we were excited to head to Morgantown, West Virginia (home of the University of West Virginia) on our way towards Washington DC. As we pulled out of our parking space, we heard a grinding noise from the passenger side rear tire. We got out of the car and inspected it, but couldn't solve the problem. We tried driving around again but it was a lost cause. How could this happen over night? Black Sally had treated us so well the entire trip, but she was overworked and needed some tuning. The hotel manager said we were in luck as a repair shop was two stores down. We drove slowly to Jim's place and got the diagnosis. The bearings of the tire were shot and a part needed to be ordered from a town an hour and a half away. We trusted Jim and his family run, A-1 Service Center. Even with a full lot of cars and appointments until two weeks from then, he slipped us in. We appreciated it. If you ever have car trouble in St. Clairsville, hit up Jimmy.

Jim's wife, Christie, drove us to a nice coffee shop in the heart of St. Clairsville. Here's Peter working on the Campin' on the Kentucka' post.

Since we only have one computer, Wolf hit the town. We were in need of a football because we left it in Chicago. Peter spotted a sporting goods store with a "50% off" sign on the window. It wasn't to be, but Wolf snapped some pics of the downtown anyway.

Here is the house of Arthur St. Clair, the first governor of the Northwest Territory which included Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and part of Minnesota. It now serves as law enforcement offices and a courthouse.

Peter, Jim, Christie, and Wolf. Great people who made our frustrating day much less painful.
