Peter and The Wolf Go Amish

We were driving into Iowa and started seeing signs for Amish country stores. The locals at the country store in Lamoni told us that we could see Amish people driving their "buggies" aka horse carriages if we drove a ways down the highway. We had to do it.

About five miles down the road, we turned down a gravel road we thought would be a good habitat for the Amish. A pack of dogs surrounded our car and viciously snarled at us. Their owners on the side of the road told us to keep driving but the dogs kept running in front of the car. For minutes, we stopped and started down the road. We finally found a crease and the dogs caught up with us and continued to hound us, the unexpected guests. About a quarter mile down the gravel road the dogs let us be and we continued on our quest.
Unfortunately, the road had no Amish.

We travelled back past the house, thankfully no dogs to be seen. We got back on the highway and said, "lets just go one more mile." About a mile and a half down the road we went over a hill and saw an extensive farm. Here's what we found:

We wheeled into the driveway for a quick pic but didn't want to bother them any further as they looked preoccupied with their chores. We put away our smart phones and drove away.

Off to the Field of Dreams.
