The Washington D.C. Checklist: Party

We picked up Jordan from work at 6pm and headed back to his apartment, which was 20 minutes away from downtown. They had been soaking fresh pineapples in vodka for over a month and figured this would be the perfect time to enjoy it. Jordan made a few phone calls, and in no time, his apartment was packed with friends and the party started.

Peter, Jordan, and Alex enjoying the concoction over a conversation on the fourth floor of Tivoli Gardens.

It was V-neck night in D.C.

This is a picture of Jordan's girlfriend, Sam, who was the evening's bartender. She served them nicely, shaken over ice. She was an incredible host and we were grateful that she dealt with our shenanigans.

After the party at Jordan's, we went to Zeba Bar. It was a short walk and they had live music. The first band played hip hop/rap. Let the dancing begin.

Peter and Sam with their own dance interpretations after a few more PBRs. The band after the one above was a New Orleans big band with a large brass section which included a tuba. It was easy to get sweaty out there.

The next night began with some Sega drinking games. The games we played included NBA Jam, NBA Live 95, Tony La Russa Baseball, and Primal Rage.

The next night, Jordan took us to a billiards bar in the Adam's Morgan district.

We caught Tim Lincecum's no-hitter at this bar.

Our next stop was Madam's Organ. Get it, because it's in the Adam's Morgan district.

The bar is renowned for it's live music. These guys were a hard-rocking blues band and were the best live music act we've seen on the trip. We talked with the musicians after the show and said they were from Georgia. The guitarist has been performing blues rock for over 25 years.

The view from our table on the second floor. There is a different bar on every story, but we stayed on ground level to catch the music.
